FOUR third grader students from LR Sebastian Elementary School took home Bronze Medals from the recently conducted Milo Little Olympics National Finals in Cebu City.
Table Tennis players Aiffyr June S. de Guzman, Mylene Janelher H. Alonto, Micha Ella C. Amando, and Kyla Crizza D. Pabico won 3rd place among other competitors from all over the country.
Prior to the national competition, the 10 year-olds were the champions of the Table Tennis Competition in the Milo Little Olympics-Mindanao held in Cagayan de Oro City.
Proud Coach Adelia G. Pabico said her students truly deserve their winnings. They have been practicing hard and were very excited to represent Cotabato City in the national competition.
“They were very excited because they know they are not only representing our school but the whole Cotabato City. But of course we made sure na hindi nila napabayaan ang kanilang academics,” Coach Pabico said.
City Administrator Atty. Frances Cynthia Guiani Sayadi said the city government fully supports the activities of the youths. Sports activities and other youth-oriented programs are encouraged in every barangay as support to the massive anti-drug campaign of Mayor Japal J. Guiani, Jr.
“It makes us very happy and proud that among hundreds and even thousands of athletes from all around the country, bronze medalist tayo. I hope that this serves as an inspiration doon sa ating mga kabataan to excel in both academics and extra-curricular activities. Keep it up,” Atty. Guiani-Sayadi said.
Mylene Janelher H. Alonto also joined the Palarong Pambansa held last summer of 2013 in Dumaguete City and also won 3rd place in the Table Tennis Competition. (PIPD-OCM)
